Golf Club Suedois

We are an association that brings together Nordic golfers of all ages and levels. With a heritage going all the way back to 1964, we have developed from being a Swedish club to one where we have members from all of the Nordic countries and beyond.

We arrange competitions for our members on several courses across Belgium. The main purpose of our club is for everyone to have a good time, with old friends and new acquaintances, experience various golf courses and enjoy the wonderful game of golf.

Coup d’Automne den 10 october 2026 på Golf Club d’Hulencourt

Enligt traditionen spelades Coup d’Automne på finfina Hulencourt. Banan var som vanligt i fantastiskt skick med väldigt snabba greener och med en farlig tjock ruff som slukade en del bollar.

Vädret var soligt och fint om än med en kall vind som krävde att jackorna stannade på under rundan. Kampen om slutsegern blev en tuff batalj mellan paren Iredahl/Huitfeldt och Gustavsson/Fugl. Dessa par spelade dessutom i samma boll s[ det utvecklades nästan till en match play. Bägge paren låg på 16p efter första 9 och efter 18 hål på 32p. Segern tilldelades Iredahl/Huitfeldt pga lägre handicap.

Klubbmästerskap den 26 september 2026 på Golf de Falnuée

I år spelades klubbmästerskapet över 27 hål, 18 hål på förmiddagen och sista 9 hål efter ett lunch break. I tidig morgonstund 08:00 slogs första bollen ut från tee. Falnuée var som vanligt i fint skick och vädret var strålande fint under hela dagen. Slaggolf kan vara kämpigt och det kändes skönt för flera av oss att få sitta ner och reflektera under lunchen och samla kraft inför sista 9.

I ledning efter de första 18 hålen låg Henrik Huitfeldt med 88 slag. På andra plats Tobias Fugl med 91 slag. Eftermiddagens 9 hål visade sig vara jobbiga för de flesta och vi som hade hoppats på raffel ända fram till sista hål blev besvikna. Henrik Huitfeldt släppte aldrig kommandot utan vann komfortabelt på totalt 135 slag, 9 slag före Hans Iredahl som kom på andra plats. Tobias Fugl blev trea med totalt 146 slag.

Efter 2020, 2023 och 2024 var detta Henrik Huitfeldts fjärde KM triumf – starkt jobbat och stort grattis !

Nästa tävling är Coup d’Automne på jättefina Golf Club d’Hulencourt lördagen den 10 oktober. Vi spelar 4 ball better ball stableford och greenfeen, som inkl lunch och HIO tävling är 105 Euro. Första starttid 10:00.

Nordic Cup September,6 på Golf de l’Empereur

Det var en härlig sensommar dag den 12 september när årets upplaga av Nordic Cup avgjordes på Golf de l’Empereur. Lite morgon dis på morgonen, men sedan soligt och vindstilla.

I årets Nordic Cup ställdes ett taggat finskt lag mot ett “rest nordiskt” team med spelare från Sverige, Åland och Danmark. Det blev som det brukar, Finland tog hem segern för fjärde året i rad. Segermarginalen denna gång blev hela 20 p, inget att diskutera således. Starkt jobbt, stort grattis Finland!!🍾🥂.

Individuellt vann Lauri Sulanko (Finland) Kat 1 (0-18 hcp) på 35p och Elina Yrgård (Sverige) Kat 2 (18.1-36).

Folkebo Scramble September,6 på Falnuée Golf Club

Lördagen den 5 september spelade vi traditionsenligt Folkebo Scramble på fina Falnuée Golf Club. Vi började dagen med sedvanlig genomgång av Folkebos speciella tävlingsregler och knorrar och sedan fördelade vi oss i fem tremannalag till respektive starthål för shotgun-start.

Efter en runda i strålande sol och skön värme samlades vi för lunch och prisutdelning på klubbens terrass. Det blev som vanligt en jämn kamp mellan lagen. Bäst lyckades Lotta Wernsberg Thomas, Dan Garellick och Hans Iredahl med 75 slag, efter avdragen hcp netto 56,3. En birdie på hål 18 efter Lottas fantastiska inspel var det som avgjorde. Tätt efter, på andra plats, kom Marie Wall, Tobias Fugl och Jan-Olof Wahlgren med ett nettoresultat på netto 57 (brutto 79 slag).

Tredje platsen gick till Sarah Bundegaard, Marcus Gustavsson och Kenneth Thomas med 59 slag netto.

Nu ser vi fram emot lördag 12 september när vi spelar Nordic Cup mot Finland på Golf de l’Empereur. Finland har vunnit de tre senaste åren, nu är det väl dags att ändra på det .!

Nordic Team Matchplay June,6 at The National Golf Brussels

On the Swedish Natonal day June,6 Sweden faced Finland in the 2026 edition of the Nordic Matchplay. This year we played at The National, a fantastic golfresort with a fabulous and challenging golf course.

At the first tee, 7 players each from Sweden and Finland were ready to play a classic Match Play with a small twitch: the winner of each 9 holes takes 1 point and overall match winner 1 point (0,5 points for half). 3 points up for grab in each match, and in total for the country match 21 points to play for.

In contrast to last years match, which was extremely even and where Sweden took the victory in a play-off, Finland dominated totally this time. 17-4 was the end result, no discussion as the finnish players mastered the course better than the swedes.

President’s Cup April,26 at Golf de Riginée

On Sunday, April 26th, we played the President’s Cup at the always beautiful Golf de Riginée. Lovely early summer weather greeted us on the day. For the first time in many years, we had more ladies/girls on the starting list than men – great fun!!

Anna-Karin Gustavsson clearly played best of all that day, collecting a total of 37 points👏👏.

Stefan Abrahamsson came in second place after a round where he alternated fantastic shots and several birdies with less successful holes.

Third prize went to Agneta Iredahl thanks to a lower hcp than Eva Daoudy som blev fyra.

The special prize, closest to the pin on the 18th, was also a showdown between the best players of the day. Anna-Karin and Stefan were both (!) just over 9 meters from the flag and shared the special prize..

The competition ended with lunch on the sun-drenched terrace☀️⛳️. More results and photos from the day HERE.

Captain’s Cup April,12 at Royal Hainaut Golf Club

The always fun flag competition was held on 12 April at Royal Hainaut (Etangs+Bruyère) which was buzzing with happy golfers this Sunday – The place to be!

No players had any shots left after 18 holes, we blame the VERY MANY TREES

, and perhaps also the sandy greens

? However, 18th fairway was a pretty sight, lined with many flags

It was a very close competition, as so many times before only settled at the very end. The one who placed her flag furthest along was our new member Eva Daoudy- well done!! This was the first time since 2008 that the Captain’s Cup Trophy was won by a female GCS Golfer – fantastic.

2nd was Elina Yrgård and 3rd Torbjörn Sahlen.

Good day, good play and great atmosphere at the 19th hole, We thank all participants and look forward to see you again at Rigenée for President’s Cup!

Secretary’s Cup March,21 at Golf de l’Empereur

Bright spring sunshine and a challenging golf course in good condition met us at Golf de l’Empereur Saturday morning March 21 to play for the Secretary’s Cup in points bogey. The mood was high in all groups, who went out to take on the course and enjoy nature and the sunlight.

The last group had a little trouble keeping their things in order and managed to lose a sand wedge, a score card and a headcover… or maybe they had their focus in the right place because they definitely took care of the first three places. Patrik Lindgren , who has preserved his excellent form from 2025, won with a nice score of 35 points. Hans Iredahl played steadily and came second with 33 points. In third place was Claus Bergman with a good result of 30 points.

The happiest of all was probably Agneta Iredahl, who won the Nearest-to-pin competition on hole 17. Congratulations to all the winners.

We are pleased that more and more ladies are joining GCS and on the 19th hole the atmosphere was good with drinks and food to everyone’s satisfaction.

Season 2026 Kick off March,7 at Golf de Pierpont

We have now officially kicked off the season!

15 brave golfers—and our always smiling starter Bo—showed up dressed for warm, sunny spring golf… only to be greeted by the legendary Charleroi freezer-fog.

But like true optimists (or real golfers), we pushed on—and before long the sun broke through, giving us a fantastic day on the course. The good weather brought good golf, and even better laughs!

The main stableford competition delivered some excellent scores:

5th – Patrik Lindgren (16p)

4th – Johan Ström (17p)

3rd – Alexander Mastrovito (17p) Featuring some very impressive drives!

2nd – Claus Bergman (18p) Solid, steady, reliable—classic Claus.

1st – Kenneth Thomas (21p) A fantastic round and a well deserved victory.

After all competitions were settled, we enjoyed a well earned lunch in the sun, full of stories, laughs, and a great start to the season.

Glöggpokalen November,9 at Golf de Pierpont

Sunday november 9 GCS ended the 2025 golf traditionally with Glöggpokalen at Pierpont. During the years we have had all kinds of weather on this competition but this year the weather was fantastic, nice and sunny and warm for the season.

All players started at 09:00 with a shotgun start. 13 players on the line this year and after 9 holes waited glögg and swedish pepparkakor to inject some extra energy. Patrik Lindgen played the best of all this sunday, and won on 37 p. With that Patrik defended his title from 2024. On second place came Henrik Huitfeldt with 35p. Third place to Kenneth Thomas on 34p, same number of points as Peter Hultin but with lower hcp, .

After the competition we had a joint lunch and also held the GCS annual meeting. In conjunction to that, the winners of some of the 2025 competitions were honored.

2025 GCS Club champion, Dan Garellick, who won the club championship strokeplay over 36 holes at Falnuee in September. .

Sellgren-Valentin Cup (4 ball better ball, match play) winners this year were Peter Hultin och Hans Iredahl after a tight final match on Nov,8 against Patrik Lindgren / Jonas Haggren.

Patrik Lindgren won Eldon Thule cup (after victory in the final against Dan Garellick, winner of the trophy in 2023 and 2024).

Patrik Lindgren also won Order of Merit (most collected points during all of the 2025 season) with in total 29p.

We are now closing the season 2025 but will be back in 2026, starting with the kick off competition in march. The program for 2026 is being finalized and will be posted here on the web site within short.

Coup d’Automne October,12 2025 at Golf Club d’Hulencourt

Just as last year we played our annual competiton Coup d’Automen at the fantastic course at Golf Club d’Hulencourt. The competition weather was perfect, mild and sunny belgium autumn weather. We were 14 players in total, team of 2, 4 BBB.

First team departed at 10am, a little chill in the morning wind. The course condition was perfect, but you had to stay on the fairway. Very difficult rough and the participants spent quite a lot of time searching for the ball. The weather got better and better, and got fantastic with nice sun in the end.

The winning team was Lauri Sulanko and Risto Raivio with a very good 42p. On second place came Bo Åmell and Adrian Cunningham with 39p and third came Agneta and Hans Iredahl on 35p.

After the competition we enjoyed a very nice lunch, included in the green fee and served at the terrace. Sunglasses on!

Klubbmästerskap den 27 september 2025 på Golf de Falnuée

I sedvanlig ordning spelades klubbmästerskapet över 36 hål, 18 hål på förmiddagen och 18 hål efter ett lunch break. I tidig morgonstund 08:00 slogs första bollen ut från tee. Falnuée var som vanligt i fint skick och vädret var fint under hela dagen. Trots det var de många av oss som hade det kämpigt, speciellt under första rundan, och det var efterlängtat att få hämta andan under den korta lunchpausen.

Efter de första 18 hålen hade fjolårstvåan Patrik Lindgren ledningen med 94 slag, tätt följd av Dan Garellick på 95 slag. Hans Iredahl återfanns på tredje plats med 103 slag. Eftermiddagsrundan spelades i omvänd resultatordning och vi som hade ställt in oss på en rafflande kamp in i målsnöret mellan ledarduon fick se oss besvikna. Dan Garellick tog tidigt kommandot och seglade in på 94 slag, totalt 9 slag före Patrik Lindgren. I andra bollen tog Henrik Huitfeldt lite revansch för en tung första runda och kom in på 87 slag vilket genererade en 3:e plats totalt.

För tredje året i rad en andra plats till Patrik

Nordic Cup September,13 at Golf de l’Empereur

Saturday September,13 it was time for our yearly event, the Nordic Cup. Course this year was Golf de l’Empereur and we had 6 players per team representing Sweden , Denmark and Finland on the first tee. As usual we played stableford and all six individual scores counted for the overall team score. In addition to the fight for the team trophy, we had two competitons: Cat1 (hcp 0-18) and Cat2 (hcp 18.1-36).

For the third year in a row Finland was the best team. Congratulations to the finnish team who ended up with a total team score of 169 points. Denmark (with a couple of swedish and finnish additions) came second with 156 points and Sweden ended 3rd with a modest score of 107 points.

Best score in the swedish team was recorded by Patrik Lindgren with 33p, which also meant a 2nd place in the Cat1 competition.
