Golf de l’Empereur Saturday April 5
At the Captain’s Cup we play flag competition stroke play, where we play until we are out of strokes and place our Nordic flags all around this nice course!
The weather was incredibly good, 21 degrees and sunny. The fairways were in very good shape, only the greens were a a bit slow and bumpy. Overall though, it could not have been better!!
12 strong players from Sweden, Denmark and Finland were in the starting list. On the course everyone had a lot of fun and we also saw some very good golf.
When all the players had consumed their shots, it was time to collect the Nordic flags that lined the fairways and greens on holes 16,17 and 18.
On the 5th place came Anna-Karin Gustavsson, she placed her flag at the 17th green. Anna Karin played very well, most memorable was a marvellous bunker shot on the 10th where she did an easy “sandy” par.
On the 4th place came Patrik Lindgren, who put down his flag on the fairway on the 18th (approx. 75 meter from the hole).
Lauri Sulanko collected the 3rd price, his flag was on the green of the 18th hole, a meter or so further from the hole than 2nd place Peter Hultin. Big respect to Peter who polished up the Pokal to be shining and together with his new cool sunglasses he was (almost) on top
The Winner is our stable player Dan Garellick, who had 1 shot left after 18 holes. Dan played very well, including a nice birdie and almost a doggy. Fortunately Viggo managed to escape Dan’s ball which came bouncing in from the other fairway.
Closest to Pin at 17th was Robin Curry Lindahl with an amazing shot only 3m from the pin.

We ended up with a great lunch on l’Empereur’s beautiful terrace. Spirit and atmosphere was top notch not only for the winners. It was a great day which we will be remembered for a very long time.
