The 2025 Nordic Matchplay became to be match between Sweden and Finland, as the danish team unfortunately did not participate,
Golf de l’Empereur welcomed us on Saturday 31 May with very nice weather and a course in great shape.
At the first tee, 4 players each from Sweden and Finland were ready to play a classic Match Play with a small twitch: the winner of each 9 holes takes 1 point and overall match winner 1 point (0,5 points for half). 3 points up for grab in each match, and in total for the country match 12 points to play for.
Finland were up 5-1 when the first two matches were finished but in the two last matches Johan Ström and Agneta Iredahl played very well and Sweden made a comeback and the total end result was 6-6 !
The Trophy needs a winner however, so Hans Iredahl and Risto Raivio had to leave the 19th hole and play a chip / put play off at the 18th hole – great drama and in the end Sweden took the victory
.

Matchplay Results:
- Risto Raivio (Fi) vs Hans Iredahl (Sw) 2,5 – 0,5
- Lauri Sulanko (Fi) vs Alexander Mastrovito (Sw) 2,5 – 0,5
- Jussi Narvi (Fi) vs Johan Ström (Sw) 0,5 – 2,5
- Arto Leppilahti (Fi) vs Agneta Iredahl (sw) 0,5 – 2,5
Many thanks to Lauri Sulanko and Finland for a great event , Sweden is looking forward to organize the competition in 2026.
